We arrange accommodation for you

Utbildning Nord can help you find suitable accommodation. You can, for instance, choose boarding school type accommodation, near the school, or a rental flat in the municipality, in Övertorneå or Hedenäset. We have:

• rental flats – one-room, two-room, three-room or four-room – both in Övertorneå and in Hedenäset
• family housing
• single rooms with shared facilities (kitchen, TV room with cable TV, sauna, laundry room). The rooms are near the school and are connected to broadband.
• dining room where you can eat breakfast and lunch
• bus transport at almost no cost at all within the municipality of Övertorneå: an annual season ticket costs SEK 100 and the bus timetable is adapted to that of the school.

Accommodation - general

There is internet connection in all rooms. Smoking is not permitted throughout the premises. Everyone has their own room; you do not share with anyone else. All flats are furnished. Bed linen and towels are not included. If you have pets, there are flats where animals are allowed. Families with children are welcome at Utbildning Nord. There are family flats, and children are welcome to attend pre-school and school in Övertorneå.

School campus in Övertorneå

We have 73 rooms for course participants on the school campus in Övertorneå, in Aspen, Björken and Tallen. Outside the campus accommodation there is an area with a football pitch, barbecue site and a fountain. Shops, sports hall, swimming baths etc. are all near at hand. Each room has its own toilet and shower. The rooms also have a refrigerator and internet connection. Shared facilities comprise kitchen, TV room with cable TV (Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian channels), sauna and laundry. About six to eleven people share a kitchen. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen. The school deals with the cleaning of the shared areas.

Aspen

Aspen is located on the school campus. It is a two-storey building with a shared kitchen and living room on each floor. There is a laundry and a sauna in the cellar. There are a total of 22 rooms, the size of which can vary.

Björken and Tallen

Björken and Tallen are situated so close to the school that you can go back there at lunchtime. There is a laundry in the cellar. Each corridor of rooms has its own kitchen. There are also shared living rooms.

Flats in Övertorneå

The flats in Övertorneå are about 10 minutes’ walk from the school. They are equipped for self-catering. All of them have single-occupation rooms, with shared kitchen/living room and bathroom. The flats are furnished. They have a washing machine, drying cupboard and kitchen equipment.

Rovainen, Dalgatan

The flats on Dalgatan street are one-room, two-room, three-room and four-room.

There is parking near the flats and, in winter, it is possible to rent parking places with engine heater power outlets or garage space. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to Utbildning Nord.

Turovaara, Aspvägen

There are four two-storey terraced houses on Aspvägen road. The houses are about one kilometre west of the centre of Övertorneå, behind a hill called Turovaara. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the school but you can get there more quickly by bicycle or car.

The flats, one-room, two-room, three-room and four-room with kitchen and bathroom, are intended for families, but also for students who wish to share accommodation. The area is suitable for children and is close to nature. There is a good pre-school nearby, and there are playgrounds and jogging and ski trails. The social environment is international. At present you can hear at least eight different languages spoken in Turovaara.

Flats in Hedenäset

The trades and construction technology courses and hairdressing course are run in Hedenäset, 18 kilometres from Övertorneå on the road to Haparanda. There are good bus connections between Övertorneå and Hedenäset.

The accommodation in Hedenäset is about two kilometres from the school campus. It is equipped for self-catering. There is internet connection in all rooms. There are one-room, two-room, three-room or four-room flats with kitchen and bathroom. They suit families as well as students who wish to share accommodation. The area is suitable for children and is close to nature. There is a good pre-school nearby, and there are playgrounds and jogging and ski trails.
