If you are looking for a job and are interested in participating in a course at Utbildning Nord, contact your employment officer.
Most courses have a system of continuous admission. You can find them (in Swedish) on the Public Employment Service’s website
www.arbetsformedlingen.se under Yrken/studier and Utbildningar. Utbildning Nord’s courses can be found under Norrbottens län.
Admissions are dealt with at the Övertorneå Public Employment Office. Admission requirements vary depending on the course.
Special obligations:
- A period of work placement in the respective occupation is recommended before the applicant starts the course.
- As regards applicants who plan to start their own company after completing a course, they must first have completed a
“start your own business” course before commencing vocational training. Work done on testing and preparation and an action
plan for starting your own business must be documented.
The following documents must be included with any preregistration with Utbildning Nord:
• application documentation
• personal letter, curriculum vitae, certificates of grades/references
• doctor’s certificate (hairdressing course only)
• action plan that corresponds to the intended course also indicating that the applicant accepts the applicable
requirements for participating in vocational training (geographical mobility, working hours in the future occupation,
salary conditions, unemployment benefit requirements and regulations etc.) The applicant must also specify what he or she
will do in order to acquire a job after completing the course.
As motivation for the application, the following must be specified: labour market requirements and the applicant's personal prerequisites.
A study visit is recommended before acquiring documentation. The Övertorneå Employment Office meets travel costs for study visits.

Course costs and activity support for participants from the whole country are paid centrally. The Övertorneå Employment Office
pays subsistence and the cost of one journey home per month, or mileage costs if a commuting allowance is payable during the period of the course.
